What should I expect?
Capoeira is a very physical sport that combines aerobic and strength-training elements. You will get a good sweat in this class! Classes will vary depending on the day and the students who are present, but you can expect to use capoeira movements to warm up, followed by technical drills and building to basic sequences.
What should I wear?
Capoeira is traditionally performed barefoot, but if you are new to barefoot martial arts, a lightweight, low-grip shoe is recommended. Your teacher will be in a full capoeira uniform (called abadas), but students may wear any clothes suitable to work out in. We recommend pants instead of shorts. White is the preferred color, but is not required. Remember to bring a water bottle!
Who can attend these classes?
All classes are all-levels. Classes are currently offered to teens and adult students.
Who is teaching?
Classes are taught by Graduada Toninho. Her bio can be found here.
